TS Tech of Indiana received three awards – Honda Quality Award, the Honda Delivery Award, and the Honda Value Award – from  Honda Manufacturing of Indiana during a program at the plant Monday. TS Tech makes seats for vehicles manufactured at Honda’s Greensburg plant.

Bob Nelson, president of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, presented the awards to Masashi Sawada, president of TS Tech Indiana. He said only five out of several hundred companies that are suppliers for Honda of Indiana received all three awards.

“This is a very big deal. In my 28 years at Honda I’ve not delivered many triple award winners. It’s really tough to be that good in all those categories, so it’s very impressive. I’m very proud to be associated with TS Tech Indiana,” Nelson said.

This is the third consecutive year the local manufacturer received the Quality Award, the fourth consecutive year it received the Delivery Award and the first year it received the Value Award.

The local company employs more than 400 people and ships 1,000 units a day.

Sawada also addressed the room full of TS Tech associates at the awards ceremony: “I would like to express my respect for everyone’s hard work and effort.”

Noting that the New Castle facility has installed a great deal of new equipment during the past couple of years and is embracing new technology and innovation, Sawada added, “I strongly believe we will be the most advanced plant among all TS Tech companies, including those in Japan. … I am quite certain that we can do it by every associate working as a team. I would like to encourage all associates to keep up the good work.”

New Castle Mayor Greg York also spoke briefly.

“It’s exciting that they’ve received the Quality Award three years in a row and the Delivery Award four years in a row,” he said. “… These guys are putting out a world-class product. I’m proud of them and can’t thank them enough for the excellent job they do.”

Several Honda and TS Tech dignitaries were on hand for the awards presentation. The day also included a steak dinner and a gift for TS Tech associates.
