What is an ACT® Work Ready Community?
ACT Work Ready Communities (WRC) empowers Henry County with data, process and tools that drive economic growth. Participants are leveraging the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC™) to measure and close the skills gap — and building common frameworks that link, align and match their workforce development efforts.
ACT has given Henry County specific numeric goals of NCRC holders within the emerging, current and transitioning workforce. Goals also include number of businesses that are supportive and aware of the local efforts to become Work Ready. Stay up to date with Henry County’s progress.

Please consider obtaining the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). It is a portable, evidence-based credential that measures essential workplace skills and is a reliable predictor of workplace success.
The NCRC is obtained by taking three WorkKeys assessments: Applied Math, Reading for Information, and Locating Information.
The assessments are given at no charge through the local WorkOne office. Located at 3011 S. 14th Street, New Castle or by calling 765-529-3010. Assessments are also available at other offices of WorkOne in nearby communities.
Assessments are given weekly with some Saturday offerings. Please call or visit an office to schedule your assessment.
